Girl's Day

What a great day today was!!!! I drove over to Arkansas yesterday evening to see my parents and to spend today with my best friends. My momma even cooked dinner for me last night! One thing I miss most from living at home is all the family dinners. Anyways, this morning I met Stephanie, Miranda, and Julie in the Wal-Mart parking lot. We hoped in with Miranda and headed to Golden Corral for brunch. We always have to go eat somewhere when we get together; it's just what we do. While we were eating, we realized that the last time we had been there was when Miranda was pregnant with Julie and we had even sat in almost the same exact spot! The following weekend was when Julie was born. So, we'll see if the same happens this time!!

After an enjoyable brunch, we went to Different Strokes. We thought it would be fun to be a little creative and have more time to hang out and catch up. Of course, it took us all forever to decide which item we wanted to paint. That's what happens when you get a few indecisive women in a pottery painting studio!!! Julie picked out a horse pretty soon after we got there. I chose a picture frame and so did Steph. Mandy chose to paint a tile. Then we had to pick out what design and colors we would paint... decisions, decisions, decisions!!! We had a lot of fun and enjoyed each other's company. Julie kept us entertained too!

I was sad when the day was over, but definitly looking forward to our next girl's outing!!!

Our finished, well... almost finished, projects

Love ya girlies!!!!

Valentines Day

On our very first Valentines Day as boyfriend and girlfriend, we rented an airplane and flew to Ponca City and ate at Enriques, the really good mexican restaurant at the airport. So, since this was our first Valentines Day as husband and wife, we decided we would do something similar. We have been wanting to fly up to Missouri to go to Lamberts, so this was the perfect opportunity. We also invited another couple to go with us - Bob, a guy Wyatt works with, and his wife.

So, Saturday morning we got up and got ready to go to the airport. Well, we looked outside and saw clouds. Since it was so cold, we couldn't fly in the clouds because we could pick up some icing and that is not good. We went ahead and went to the airport with the hopes it would clear up. Bob and his wife had already arrived, but decided to go get some coffee in Jenks. Wyatt and I went ahead and got the preflight done.

Bob wanted to surprise his wife, so he didn't tell her what the plan was. When they got back to the airport, we just sat around and visited and watched tv while we waited on the weather to clear up. After several checks on the weather and a couple hours later, we were FINALLY able to go. We had wanted to leave shortly after 10, but didn't get gone until about 12:30. Wyatt asked Bob's wife if she had ever been in a small plane before and she said no. So, she didn't know she was going flying until about 10 minutes before we got in the airplane and had no clue where we were going!

The flight up to Springfield, MO was a little bumpy but overall pretty good. We went in and borrowed the courtesy car and drove about 15 minutes to Lambert's in Ozark, MO. As we pulled into the parking lot, we saw a lot of people, more than we thought we'd see at 2 in the afternoon! We went in and got our names on the waiting list and presented the card from the airport to get us in a little faster. About 10 minutes later, we were seated (with a few dirty looks from the other people waiting). Lambert's is best know for their throwed rolls. A guy literally throws rolls to anyone with their hands up! We all ate entirely too much, but it was SO good!

We headed back to the airport and then flew back to Tulsa. We didn't get back until about 6:45, but it was a really awesome Valentines Day, one of the best I've ever had!

A year... already?

I can't believe it has been a year since my dear Kiley-Jo got her wings and became an angel. I've missed her so much... I missed her being a part of my bachelorette party. I missed her being in my wedding. I missed seeing her over the holidays. I missed talking to her. I missed hearing her laugh. I missed our girl time. I missed her beautiful eyes. I've missed her.

I am so thankful to have had the privilege to call her one of my best friends for 8 wonderful years. The four of us had one of the strongest bonds I've ever seen. Each time we've gotten together over the last year, it just feels like something is missing. It is. Our dear Kiley completed us in a way no one else can. She was the perfect fit to our 4-piece puzzle. Our (future) children were going to grow up together. We were going to go on vacations together. We were going to grow into old ladies together. All we have now are the fabulous memories and I will cherish them forever.

Kiley was one of the most beautiful, funny, energetic, loving, athletic, sincere, devoted, true, honest, and God loving woman I have ever met. There aren't enough words to describe how truly amazing she was. The world was definitly a better place with her in it. I know that she is now in the most perfect place, where none of the problems of this sinful world can touch her.

It has taken me so long to write this post, most of it with tears streaming down my face. It is so difficult to talk about her in the past tense. It just doesn't seem right and my heart aches because I miss her so much. The only comfort I can find is knowing that I WILL see her again - in Heaven.

My dearest Kiley-Jo ~ I love you and always will....
